After School Care

St. John the Baptist's After School Care program is designed to offer quality after school care in a safe environment for all children of St. John the Baptist Parish 4 years of age or older attending SJB or other schools in the area.

Spiritual values will be reinforced informally through our attitudes and actions, as well as direct opportunities to work on service oriented project. The intent of our program is to create a warm and caring atmosphere that offers a "home away from home" feel for each child who participates. Activities

Based on interest there will be game tournaments, newspaper journalists, computer lab, book reading, indoor and outdoor exercise, art exploration, and involvement with homework club and other school-based functions.

Sessions

Sessions are held immediately after school for most children 2:30 pm – 5:45 pm.

Young children (4 year olds) sessions begin at 7:30 am on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for before or after 4k care.

Days of Operation

All regular school days
Early Release Days (11:30 am – 5:45 pm)
In-service Days (if there is enough of a need)

After School Care will be closed for emergency closing, such as snow days. If the school is closed in the middle of the day, After School Care will be provided for one hour after school is dismissed.

After School Care will NOT be provided on vacation days (Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter vacation).

School Year Registration

Cost is $30 non-refundable registration fee per child (Maximum of $70 per family). Complete registration forms and other miscellaneous forms. A minimum of 10 children everyday must be met by September 1 in order for childcare to be provided on site.

Daily Fees

$3.50 per hour (parishioners) and $4.00 (non-parishioners)
One-hour minimum charge
Charges will apply for scheduled time not used
A late fee will be charged per child if picked up after 5:45 pm

Billing and Payment

Monthly bills will be sent out with payment due 10 days from the billing date. A $10 fee for late payments will be applied as warranted.

Summer Care

Now offered during the summer, this program will run Monday through Friday from approximately 7-5pm (with additional time possible upon request). Child care is available for families of preschool through 5th grade students. Children will enjoy a daily schedule with a balance of active and relaxed times. Lunch is not provided. "Drop-in" child care is available to children who do not normally need care which can be requested the day prior to care needed. In either case, health forms must be filed to allow your child to participate. There will need to be a minimum of ten children signed up each day in order to run a summer program. Summer Fee Schedule
Registration - $20 per child with a maximum of $50 per family
Hourly Rate - $3.50 for all registered children, $4 for drop-in care
